Alastair Clarkson says he doesn't want his side to be overly Dusty-conscious ahead of his side's clash with Richmond on Sunday.

Clarkson said he had watched on with awe at the reigning Norm Smith Medallist's power of work in the last 12 months.

But the four-time premiership coach explained that Martin was one cog in a well-oiled machine - albeit a significant cog!

To change or not to change, who is in the mix in Round 2?

"He's an exceptional talent but we have 21 others that we need to worry about as well," Clarkson said.

"The Tigers gel together as a side and they know each others' role really well because they're coached to a really specific system.

"Trying to curb Dusty is one of our many challenges confronting us on Sunday."

Clarkson said this weekend's clash against the reigning premiers was the perfect opportunity for his youthful side.

"We've got a young group and we're in a different phase ourselves in terms of where we're at as a footy club.

"We're really excited to measure ourselves against the benchmark of the competition over the last four or five years."
