Conor, Connor or Cousins.
The trio of Conor Nash, Connor Downie and James Cousins seem to be the kind of names that will be brought up at match committee this week.
That is, if Alastair Clarkson and his selection crew choose to change the line-up that pushed Geelong to the final minute of play in the side’s thrilling Easter Monday clash earlier this week.
Nash has been repeatedly praised by Head of Development and Box Hill Senior Coach Sam Mitchell in recent weeks for the “really fine run of form” he finds himself in.
The statistic that leaves Jaeger unmatched across the league
Playing predominantly forward, the 22-year-old Irishman has shown off his elite engine in providing a connection between the reserves side’s defensive and offensive ends.
The highest possession-getter in each of Box Hill’s previous two hit-outs, Cousins is another one who could seemingly slot straight in to the senior line-up if called upon.
The 23-year-old midfielder played in each of the final six games of last year’s season, averaging 19.5 disposals and 4.8 inside 50s.
In his first season, Downie continues to take steps each time he takes to the field.
Splitting his time between wing and half-forward roles, the 18-year-old is looking more and more comfortable at VFL level and would undoubtedly grab his chance on the senior stage with both hands.
So, will Clarko reward the form of his band of three Cs? Or will he back in the 22 that nearly got it done against the Cats?
