Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson is on the cusp of etching his name further into the record books ahead of his side's clash with North Melbourne on Saturday.

Clarkson will be coaching his 377th game when he leads the Hawks into battle this weekend, drawing even with Rodney Eade in 15th place on the VFL/AFL all-time coaching list.

A four-time premiership Hawk, Eade amassed his 377 games coaching three different sides: Sydney (152 games), Western Bulldogs (162 games) and Gold Coast (63 games).

Is the Hawks midfield set for a big boost ahead of the Roos clash?

Collingwood's Jock McHale, who sits in second position on the list with 713 games to his name, and Essendon's Dick Reynolds, who sits tenth, are the only other two coaches in the top 15 to have led just one club throughout their coaching careers.

Mick Malthouse is the all-time leader, having coached an incredible 718 matches over a 32-year span.

With 14 home and away games remaining in the 2021 season, Clarkson is set to move into outright 13th place on the list by the time the season is out, moving past Frank Hughes and John Worsfold and one spot behind John Kennedy Snr.
