Hawthorn has announced important duo Jack Gunston and Will Day will both sit out the remainder of the season.
Hampered by a back injury for the majority of the year, Gunston featured just once in the 2021 campaign, in Round 7.
The reigning Peter Crimmins Medallist will now focus on his preparation ahead of next season.
Will Day's ankle injury will mean he also plays no further part in the Hawks 2021 campaign.
In his second year in the brown and gold, Day made just five appearances this year as he too endured misfortune on the injury front for the bulk of the year.
