Hawthorn Chief Executive Officer Ash Klein said the club was excited to host a pre-season game in Launceston.
"We're really looking forward to welcoming the Western Bulldogs to Tasmania in a rematch of our thrilling Elimination Final," Klein said.
"With several new faces set to be on show, we can't wait to start the year strong in front of our Tasmanian members and fans and see them pack out UTAS Stadium, as we begin the celebrations for our 25th season of being in Tassie."
The Hawks will announce their match simulation training session in due course before their season gets underway on Friday 7 March against Sydney at the SCG.
