Hawthorn will host Richmond in a tribute match in the Devonport region for the families and communities affected by this week's horrific accident at Hillcrest Primary School in north-west Tasmania.
The club extends its deepest condolences to those impacted by the tragedy and is honoured to be given the opportunity to show its love and support for a community in mourning during this time.
The game will be the Hawks' sole Community Series match-up as the club looks to ramp up its preparations for season 2022.
Hawks lock in coaching roles and lines for next season
Chief Commercial Officer Ash Klein said Hawthorn looked forward to the opportunity to show its support to the Devonport community.
"With the club's treasured connection to the Tasmanian community, we, like so many others, watched on this week in disbelief and horror of the events in Devonport," Klein said.
"As the Devonport region continues to recover from this tragic accident, we are honoured to play our small part in helping to re-build and help."
Ticket sale dates will be confirmed once the venue is confirmed. This will be advised in early 2022.
