Hawthorn ruckman Max Lynch is edging closer to his return to play after recovering from a concussion he sustained in the opening round of the season.

The 23-year-old was subbed out in the early stages of his first game in the brown and gold following a collision with a Kangaroo's player in Round 1.

After now progressing through the AFL health and safety protocols, the young Hawk is now set to test this week ahead of the Easter Monday clash against Geelong.

Meanwhile, youngster Will Day will miss Monday’s game due to his concussion during last Sunday’s game against St Kilda.
