The VFLW Hawks continued their now seven game long winning streak with a 49-point victory against Williamstown on Saturday.

It was a slow start for the Hawks at Williamstown Oval, with just one goal from Tam Luke in the opening quarter, but after a short break, the girls kicked into gear.

Jesse Williams sealed two goals in the second quarter, joined by Dom Carbone and Nadia Von Bertouch to extend Hawthorn’s lead into the half time break.

Von Bertouch brought some height into the forward line this week, with Sarah Cameron a noticeable out, changing it up from her established position in the backline.

The half time chat had coach Cherie O’Neill remind the girls to maintain their own brand of footy and focus on what they can control.

O’Neill encouraged the girls to protect each other and give their teammates every opportunity going into the last half.

The wind picked up in the third quarter causing inconsistencies and unpredictability, but it was no match for Emma Humphries, who stole a striding goal in the early minutes.

The midfield looked dominating, as the Seagulls struggled to get the ball past the centre circle.

Bridget Deed snapped a goal to maintain Hawthorn's momentum. The Hawks kept the Seagulls quiet through the middle of the game.

Williams powered forward in the final quarter to earn herself her third goal of the game. While Luke demonstrated why she’s the captain, with her second goal closing out the final term.

Keeping the streak alive, the girls have now posted seven victories on the trot as they continue to look unstoppable.
