Hawthorn has pounced on Sandringham Dragons product Bridie Hipwell, selecting the 18-year-old with Pick 10 in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft.
Hipwell plays across the midfield and forward line and boasts athleticism, versatility and ball-winning ability.
The versatile teenager averaged 13.5 disposals, five inside 50s and 3.2 marks in the NAB League Girls competition, which led to her being selected in the NAB League Girls Team of the Year.
A wrist injury meant she only suited up once for Vic Metro but once she recovered, she was among the best in the NAB AFLW Academy’s clash against the under 23 All Stars earlier this year.
