Sam Mitchell says he was pleased with his side’s ability to respond to Adelaide's momentum shift during its 32-point win on Sunday at Marvel Stadium.
Hawthorn led at every break, but were challenged by the Crows who started to surge back into the game following the main break, leaving the Hawks goalless in the third term.
“The thing I was most happiest with was the ability to get the momentum back,” Mitchell said following the game.
“We had the game on our terms for most of the first half, they came back at us, and we just lost complete control of the game in the third quarter.
“But the players showed plenty of maturity and to be able to get that back was really pleasing.”
Mitchell added that he was glad that the players were able to get some reward for effort.
“As much as we haven’t had victories for a while, the one we got today, I thought they had really earned and deserved,” Mitchell said.
“To play in a way that was pretty pleasing to the eye, I think we ticked a lot of boxes today.”
