With several Hawks producing impressive individual 2022 campaigns, the prospect of this year’s Peter Crimmins Medal count going down to the wire is arguably a high probability.
PCM votes are determined by the match committee after each game, but with several stand-outs shining across each line in 2022, it's a difficult task to predict who they will deem best afield each week.
Last year saw Tom Mitchell take out the special honour, marking his third since joining the Hawks from Sydney in 2017.
The ball magnet topped the count and finished clear on 161 votes, ahead of runner-up Blake Hardwick (126), followed by Jaeger O’Meara (121) who sat five votes behind in third place.
Will Mitchell add another medal to the trophy cabinet, or will Hardwick finally be able to break through the blocks to claim the top spot after finishing second across two seasons?
What about Jai Newcombe who recently finished as Hawthorn’s highest vote-getter in this year’s Brownlow count? Or is star forward Mitch Lewis' career-best year going to end up in a historic win?
Is Dylan Moore’s impressive campaign going to be rewarded? Or is James Sicily’s remarkable form following a year on the sidelines going to be enough to see him claim his first PCM?
