There were plenty of highlights on the stat sheet following Hawthorn’s inaugural AFLW win on Friday night.
Jasmine Fleming starred in the four-point victory over Sydney, winning a NAB AFL Women’s Rising Star nomination for her 16 possessions (10 of those contested), 10 tackles, four clearances and 397 metres gained.
Lucy Wales dominated in the ruck with a game-high 23 hit-outs to go with 11 disposals, four tackles and four big marks. The next most hit-outs recorded in the game was nine.
Akec Makur Chuot displayed her athleticism in the backline with a game-high 411 metres gained, game-high five marks and 13 disposals.
Tilly Lucas-Rodd again led the way in tackles with 11 as Tamara Smith followed close by on nine to match her nine touches.
Leading the way in goals was Tahlia Fellows, who booted three majors in just her third AFLW game. She finished with nine disposals and four tackles to go with the majors. Charlotte Baskaran also chipped in with a goal to go with her 11 disposals.
Speaking of forward dominance, Aileen Gilroy finished with a game-high six inside 50s to go with a brilliant goal of her own and eight disposals.
