Lloyd Meek joined the brown and gold last week following the final day of the trade period.
With the youngster currently on holiday in the USA, we’ve compiled a list of quick facts so you can get to know him ahead of his arrival next month.
1. Lloyd won the WAFL club Peel Thunder's best and fairest in 2022 after a series of dominant ruck performances for the Dockers' state-league affiliate.
2. He is originally from Mininera in regional Victoria – a farming area west of Ballarat – in which he returned back to in 2020 to help work on his family farm alongside his dad during the pandemic.
3. At 203cm tall, he becomes the second tallest player at the Hawks - just shy of fellow ruckman Ned Reeves who stands at 209cm.
4. Lloyd comes from an impressive family rowing background. In what is a most unique accomplishment, his aunty, dad and two sisters have all rowed in winning ‘Head of the Lake’ crews for Ballarat Grammar.
5. The most recent player to move from Fremantle to Hawthorn was Trent Croad in 2004, after initially starting his career at Hawthorn. Therefore Lloyd has become the first Docker to uniquely move to the Hawks since Todd Ridley did so between 1996-1997.
