Heading to the footy will be easier for Hawthorn members in 2023 who will once again have access to physical membership cards alongside digital ticketing.

With a record-breaking 81,494 members signing up to the brown and gold in 2022, the club recently announced its 2023 membership packages have gone on-sale with several key additions and enhancements based on member-feedback.

General Manager of Consumer Business Jeremy Millard welcomed the changes, in particular the reintroduction of physical cards now for all members, with the club playing a significant role with the AFL in overturning this process.

“While digital ticketing is more convenient for some, for others it became a barrier for those who didn’t have a smartphone, weren’t overly tech savvy or simply forgot their passwords,” Millard said.

“Digital ticketing isn’t for everyone and although the club held strong regarding reserved seat members, we now welcome the return of physical cards for all other members including those with general admission access.”

Hawthorn members will now have the choice in how they attend the footy.

The digital ticketing system will remain and continue to be enhanced, however members who prefer to scan-in using a physical card with a barcode can now do so.

In addition to physical cards returning, the club has made several other enhancements to its 2023 membership program including:

  • Greater investment in member fulfilment packs, with several options
  • More exclusive member experiences
  • A third year of complimentary upgraded benefits for many long-term members
  • Increased number of complimentary member events
  • Interstate activity when the men’s team play interstate
  • The removal of booking fees for Dunstall Club members affecting over 13,000 members.

Millard said the club has made a concerted effort over the past three seasons to give members more experiences than just football.

"The value for money in a Hawthorn membership has never been greater, and we’re looking forward to seeing our passionate members in the stands again for what should be an exciting 2023 season, the second under Sam Mitchell," he said.
