Star Hawthorn quartet Aileen Gilroy, Jasmine Fleming, Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Tamara Smith are all in the running to take home a piece of silverware at the AFL Players’ Association AFLW Most Valuable Player Awards.

Fleming and Lucas-Rodd have been nominated for two awards, with both players in contention to win the AFLW MVP.

Fleming is also in the running to be named Best First-Year Player while Lucas-Rodd could be voted in as Best Captain.

Gilroy rounds out the Hawks nominated for the MVP following her runner-up finish in the club’s AFLW best and fairest.

After being deemed Most Courageous at Hawthorn’s best and fairest count, Smith is a chance to take home the AFL Players’ Association equivalent.

Voting for the AFLPA MVP awards is a two-stage process with players nominating their teammates in stage one before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

Players cannot vote for a player from their own club during stage two of the voting process.
