Hawthorn has finalised its list ahead of the lodgement deadline following the selection of Seamus Mitchell in the rookie draft.
The talented 20-year-old has spent the past two seasons at the club, after joining the brown and gold in the 2020 national draft.
Mitchell’s selection via the rookie draft will ensure the youngster is afforded further chances to continue his development, having battled multiple injuries during his time at Hawthorn.
Meanwhile Lachlan Bramble has been upgraded to the senior list after he joined the club via the 2021 pre-season supplementary selection period.
The 24-year-old has been among Hawthorn’s most promising defenders in his first two seasons, playing 19 games.
Hawthorn National List and Recruiting Manger Mark McKenzie said the moves ensure the club’s list remains in strong shape.
“We made it clear we intended to select Seamus as a rookie after his delisting, which ensured greater list flexibility heading into the draft,” McKenzie said.
“This move gives Seamus every opportunity to further his development after being hit with several injuries during his time here at the club.
“As for Lachie, his elevation to the senior list is well-deserved, having joined the club through a different avenue in the pre-season supplementary period (SSP).
“Lachie has put together two strong years of development and we look forward to seeing him continue this progression.
“We will make our final list lodgement with one vacant rookie spot remaining on Thursday.
“This gives the club some flexibility over the next 12 months, in being able to make a possible selection through the 2023 pre-season supplementary period (SSP) or mid-season draft.”
The Hawks' list currently has 36 senior-listed players and five rookie-listed players, as well as two category B rookies, following the addition of Hawthorn Next Generation Academy graduate Josh Bennetts.
