Hawthorn defender James Blanck is getting closer to a return to play, with his timeframe listed as one week in this round's injury update.

The 24-year-old ruptured his ACL in the lead-up to the 2024 season and has shown admirable resilience in his recovery to date.

Elsewhere, Jack Scrimshaw continues to progress in his recovery from a concussion while James Worpel (ankle), Connor Macdonald (ankle) and Sam Butler (leg) all remain one to weeks away from being available to play.

As it is a bye round for the Hawks, High Performance Manager Peter Burge will provide more detail on the club's injuries next week in the lead-up to Hawthorn's clash with Port Adelaide in Gather Round.
