Last time we met

Hawthorn (86) defeated Adelaide (54) - Round 17, 2022

The Hawks snapped a five-game losing streak with a comfortable win over Adelaide by 32 points at Marvel Stadium.

The victory was the club's 1000th win, while also marking former captain Ben McEvoy's return to the game after spending four months on the sidelines due to a broken neck.

Mitch Lewis had a day out kicking five goals - three of which were in the first quarter - while Blake Hardwick was instrumental finishing with 32 disposals after playing a role on star Crow Jordan Dawson.

Our last game

GWS (77) defeated Hawthorn (75)

It was heartbreak for the Hawks last week after falling short to GWS in a narrow two-point loss on Sunday in Adelaide.

Harry Himmelberg was the hero for the Giants after a match-winning goal and game-saving touch on the Hawks' goal line within a matter of seconds.

After Hawthorn overcame their third quarter woes to open up an eight-point lead heading into the final term, it was GWS who snuck home at Norwood Oval in a remarkable finish.

Fergus Greene was huge for the Hawks on the day, kicking a game-high three goals and recording seven marks, while Conor Nash showed his dominance in the midfield, finishing with career-best 31 disposals and nine tackles.

Jai Newcombe was also instrumental finishing with 31 touches, six tackles and 10 clearances.
