Hard-nosed midfielder Conor Nash has led a quartet of Hawthorn vote-getters in Round 6 of the AFLCA's Champion Player of the Year Award.
The 24-year-old was a stand-out in the Hawks' narrow three-point loss to Adelaide, claiming five votes after recording a team-high 28 disposals (15 contested) at an impressive 85.7 per cent efficiency while laying seven tackles, winning seven clearances and kicking a goal.
The performance adds to an impressive fortnight for the Irishman following his career-best 31-possession game only a week ago against GWS.
Arguably Nash’s highlight afternoon came in the third quarter, when the 198cm bull laid one of the better bone-crunching tackles in recent memory, slamming Crow Jake Soligo straight into the Launceston turf, earning himself a shot on goal.

Jai Newcombe was another in the brown and gold to make an impact on Sunday, collecting three votes following his 26-possession game, that included eight marks, 10 tackles and seven clearances.
Newcombe's damage extended deep into Hawthorn’s forward half, creating seven score involvements as well as a four inside 50s.
Captain James Sicily was the third Hawk to catch the attention of both coaches on the day, proving his worth around the ground as he finished with a game-high 661 metres gained and 11 marks, alongside his 27 touches and four tackles.
Fellow defender Sam Frost rounded out the Hawthorn representatives for this week, claiming two votes following his strong showing in the Hawthorn defensive 50.
Frost's aerial work was on full display as he finished with a valuable seven intercept marks, which was a career-high for the 29-year-old.
