Will Day returned in dazzling fashion on Saturday, earning this week’s MVP following an impressive performance in Hawthorn’s loss to the Western Bulldogs.
The 21-year-old played his first game back following a two-game suspension that saw him miss games against GWS and Adelaide.
Day came back with a bang, finishing with a career-best and game-high 30 touches and seven clearances, five marks, six score involvements and one goal.

By half time the youngster was already the leading disposal-getter on the ground with 15 disposals at 80 per cent efficiency.
It marks Day’s fourth fan-voted MVP award for 2023, having earned accolades in Round 2, Round 3, and Round 4.
Day has flourished following his move to the midfield this season, averaging 25.8 disposals, 6.4 marks, 4.4 tackles, 5 clearances and 5.4 score involvements per game.
