Changkuoth Jiath is set to return after Hawthorn's bye, with the dynamic defender to be given a further fortnight to return to full fitness.
The 23-year-old has missed the past three games due to a calf complaint, but Hawthorn High Performance Manager Peter Burge said his most recent progression has been positive.
"This week in particular, he has been getting some running sessions together and is moving faster," Burge said.
"He won't be available this weekend, then we have the bye, so Round 15 Gold Coast game is looking more likely."
Meanwhile, Chad Wingard is likely to return to the field for Box Hill this weekend, after the he and the club took a conservative approach in his return from a calf injury.
"Chad last week did two main sessions, he fully trained on Tuesday and Thursday," Burge said.
"We had a long discussion post-training on Thursday, and there were just a couple of things that he didn't feel 100% confident with."
"He completed every drill, he completed the whole session, but he's an experienced player, he know his body and he told us how he was feeling and the decision in the end was let's wait another week.
"All being well this Thursday, with his confidence levels being higher, he would be available this weekend."
And Emerson Jeka has been cleared to return to the field after overcoming a hamstring issue that's seen him sidelined since the start of May.
"He will fully train on Thursday, and that going well, we would assume he is playing on the weekend," Burge said.
"He's feeling really good, really positive. He was pretty keen last week to push things along, and he's been able to do that this week, so it's looking good.
