Hawks Captain James Sicily headlines a pair of inclusions into Hawthorn's senior side set to take on the Brisbane Lions this Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
Sicily will make his return to the brown and gold line-up after missing one game due to a suspension, while speedster Seamus Mitchell has been recalled after making a full recovery from an illness that sidelined him last week.
Saturday will mark Sicily's first game since his monster performance in Hawthorn's Round 11 clash against St Kilda, where the skipper racked up a career-best 43 disposals, dragging his side to a memorable victory.
A foot injury to Sam Frost will see him miss at least one game, after senior coach Sam Mitchell revealed the experienced defender will use this game along with next week's bye as a chance to overcome the nagging injury that's troubled him since Round 2.
While first-year Hawk Bailey Macdonald has been omitted after making his debut in Adelaide last week.
General Manager of Football Rob McCartney was excited by the combination of youth and experience in the additions to Hawthorn's side for Saturday.
"James has been an important leader and player for us this season and after missing a week through suspension is a welcome addition to our line-up. I’m sure he is looking forward to the challenge that presents this week against Brisbane’s tall forwards," McCartney said.
"The fact that Seamus returns immediately after missing the Port game through illness is a reflection of the growth in his game since making his debut against GWS in Round 5.
"I’m sure Seamus will appreciate the opportunity to excite our fans with his run and carry on the wide open spaces of the MCG.”
