Hawthorn has welcomed the return of three faces for its trip to Sydney as it prepares to take on GWS on Saturday.

Jarman Impey re-joins the line-up after being a late out last week due to back soreness, while Tyler Brockman has been named in the starting 22 after also missing the Carlton clash due to illness.

In addition, Denver Grainger-Barras has been recalled into the senior side after a move up forward saw the usual defender record an impressive four-goal haul in the VFL on the weekend.

It marks Grainger-Barras' third senior appearance this year after having last featured at AFL level in Round 6.

General Manager of Football Rob McCartney said he was excited by the combination of youth and experience in the additions to Hawthorn's side for Saturday.

"Jarman has been an important leader and player for us this season and after missing a week with a minor back issue, he is a welcome addition to our line-up," McCartney said.

"It's great to see Denver earn an opportunity again in the seniors. He has impressed recently in the VFL, including last week where we saw him make a switch into attack.

"The fact that Brocky returns immediately after missing the Carlton game through illness is a real positive for us.

"We have seen glimpses this season of his brilliance, and I’m sure Brocky will enjoy the challenge of exciting our fans at a stadium he is yet to have played at before.”

Lloyd Meek, Sam Butler and Harry Morrison have been omitted while Luke Breust was ruled out from the team on Thursday morning due to a larynx injury (voice box).

Meek and Morrison, along with Ned Long and Cam Mackenzie make up the emergency list, with the medical substitute to be named one hour prior to the first bounce.

The match will be live Fox Footy and Kayo Sports from 4.30pm.

Hawthorn will also be hosting an open training session on Friday in Sydney at GIANTS Stadium from 2pm, with fans in the state encouraged to attend.
