Hawthorn Football Club would like to congratulate Isaac Smith on an impressive career after the triple premiership Hawk announced he would retire at the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Taken by Hawthorn with Pick 19 in the 2010 national draft, Smith went on to play a vital role in the club's three-peat premiership success in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

A Hawthorn life member, Smith debuted in Round 7, 2011 and went on to play 210 games for the Hawks, serving as the co-vice captain along with Liam Shiels from 2017 to 2019, and remained a member of Hawthorn’s leadership group in 2020.

Following his 10th campaign and three flags with the Hawks, Smith joined Geelong at the end of the 2020 season as an unrestricted free agent.

Renowned for his blistering speed, competitive nature and football smarts, Smith went on to play 67 games with Geelong across three seasons, adding another premiership to his name with the Cats last year, while also claiming the Norm Smith Medal.

The crafty midfielder and forward has kicked 204 career goals including 165 for Hawthorn and currently 39 for Geelong.

The club would like to thank Smith for his valuable service to the brown and gold and wish him and his family all the best in their next chapter.
