James Worpel has claimed his third fan-voted MVP for the year following his impressive performance in his side's loss to Melbourne on Sunday.

Worpel stood tall against a talented Melbourne midfield, finishing with a game-high 30 disposals and 11 clearances.

The midfield bull, alongside teammate Conor Nash, also lead all players with 15 contested possessions apiece.

Worpel recently inked a two year extension with the club, making sure he remains in the brown and gold until at least the end of the 2025 season.

The 24-year-old has recaptured his career-best form this season after a shoulder reconstruction cut short his 2022 campaign.

Averaging 26.2 disposals, 6.6 clearances, 4 tackles and 5.6 score involvements per game in 2023, Worpel has become a key part of Hawthorn's new-look engine room.

He also recently celebrated his 100th milestone game in Hawthorn's Round 22 win against the Western Bulldogs, which saw him finish with 25 disposals, seven clearances and six score involvements.
