Box Hill shone under lights, taking home a 39-point win against Frankston to cap off a fine home-and-away season on Friday night.

The Hawks have locked in a top four finish and will now enter a bye this week before heading to its qualifying final against Werribee the following week.

Box Hill Hawk Zane Littlejohn said the contest was an important one for his side.

"We knew if we won we'd finish in the top four with a double chance, and if we lost it would have put it in the hands of other results," Littlejohn said.

"It was pleasing to start the weekend off really strongly, it was a really tough and clean in the contest, which the pervious week we weren't.

"All 12 of our AFL boys had significant impact on the game at some point, whether it was our mids who dominated the game all night or if it was those who had some individual moments through the game."

Littlejohn has given his rundown of how each AFL listed Hawk faired in the win.

Cooper Stephens (28 disposals, 6 tackles, 9 clearances)

"This was a personal best performance for Coop since arriving to the club. With 28 disposals, six tackles, nine clearances and eight score involvements, it was a first-class game from him. People who were at the game would understand - his foot work, cleanliness and toughness around the contest to break tackles and get from inside to outside the contest was really pleasing."

Lloyd Meek (3 goals, 26 disposals, 8 clearances, 41 hit-outs)

"After a disappointing performance last week, Meeky controlled the ruck and had really good connection with his mids all night. He was damaging in the air and was able to push forward and take some valuable marks and hit the scoreboard himself. To kick three goals and have 10 score involvements from 26 disposals as well as eight clearances is a great return from him. He was the dominant big man on the ground."

Cam Mackenzie (25 disposals, 11 tackles, 4 clearances)

"Cam started the game like a house on fire. He was elite with his craft from inside to outside of the contest, his composure with ball in hand and the way he moved he really looked like an AFL footballer. He finished with 25 touches, but more importantly the 11 tackles. He showed a real tough side to his game which was great to see. He finished with four clearances and hit the scoreboard too, but his ball use and composure going forward and his decision-making was of a real AFL-standard. It was really exciting to see that from a first-year draftee."

Lachlan Bramble (2 goals, 24 disposals, 6 tackles, 6 clearances)

"Brambs spent some more time inside this week, and his line-breaking ability, ball use and leadership around the footy was a stand-out. To Brambs' credit, his toughness as well was really pleasing. He had 24 touches at 71 per cent, along with the six tackles and six clearances as well, in addition to his two goals. His ball-use was first-class and he shone above with the composure he was able to use."

Bailey Macdonald (1 goal, 22 disposals, 8 tackles, 5 marks, 1 goal)

"Bailey resumed his normal role in the back six. He had 22 disposals, eight tackles and he also kicked the first goal of the game, which was his first goal for the year. That goal actually set us up really well and was an important one because we kicked into the wind - we probably had a three or four goal breeze into the wind in the first quarter. Our half-backs in Bailey and Seamus helped set us up with some really good run, dash and carry."

Emerson Jeka (18 disposals, 7 marks)

"Jeks played key back and had some moments with ball in hand, but I was really impressed with his contest work, his marking and his ability to compete in the air, take the game on and play with some real urgency. I'm comfortable with players making some mistakes if they're doing it with some urgency and purpose. It was a good return for Jek, he was our only key back for the night, and he locked it down really well for us in that space."

Josh Bennetts (1 goal, 15 disposals, 4 tackles)

"Again, as I say every week, Josh is very reliable. Four tackles this week is also a really important aspect of his game. He works his backside off. He is a great team player and brings others into the game. He kicked a really nice left-foot goal in the third into the breeze to help settle that quarter down for us and get us into three quarter time with a significant lead."

Sam Butler (1 goal, 14 disposals, 4 tackles)

"Like Bennetts, Butsy had a really solid half-forward performance. He finished with 14 touches, four tackles, nine score involvements and hit the board himself. He could've finished with three goals, but regardless he looked damaging and he took the game on. He probably just wasn't as clean as he would've liked to be, but he's getting to good contests. He played a little bit higher up the ground this week which allowed him to really use his speed back to goal which was great."

Seamus Mitchell (14 disposals, 5 marks)

"It was great to have Seamus back, his contest and toughness was first-class. He had some really good ball movement moments and made some really good decisions with ball in hand. He defended really well too, so it was a well-balanced game from Seamus."

Josh Morris (10 disposals)

"I was really impressed with Tank, he dropped a couple marks early, but didn't lose confidence. His 10 disposals were at 90 per cent efficiency - he was a bit of a general down in defence for us in regards to his toughness and setting us up. He saved us a few times with some good one-on-one contests."

Fergus Greene (1 goal, 5 disposals)

"Ferg had a 'just about night', he had many opportunities that just missed him or because of the conditions the ball sat on his head. But Ferg is working really hard on his footwork and how to get himself back into the contest if the kick isn't quite where it needs to be, or if he is being manipulated by his opponent. He is working hard in that space. He could've had many more shots on goal, but the conditions cost him a little bit at times. He finished with 1.1 and provided some good pressure up forward as well which is really pleasing. If he's not marking the ball, it's important that he is still in the contest, which he was able to do. When he gets ball to ground he is able to bring some pressure and looks lively."

Clay Tucker (1 goal, 3 disposals)

"The numbers don't look huge for Tuck, but he kicked his first goal and had some really good ruck moments, he was able to give us some good first use in the ruck and around the ground. He nearly clunked a few and look more at the level this week which is great for him. He is a developing ruck, and is working really hard to improve his game. I see him at the club nice and early making sure he's working to improve his game each week which is great."
