Hawthorn has farewelled Jacob Koschitzke after agreeing to terms on a deal with Richmond on the final day of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.
The Hawks will receive a 2023 third-round draft selection (pick No. 49) in exchange for Koschitzke, as he departs to the Tigers.
Drafted in 2018, Koschitzke ends his time in the brown and gold following five seasons, where he booted 54 goals from 48 games.
Hawthorn National List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie was pleased the trade could benefit all parties, with the club securing an additional pick in this year’s national draft.
“This deal not only strengthens our draft hand, but also gives Jacob a fresh opportunity to continue his career,” McKenzie said.
“We respect Jacob’s desire to seek a longer-term deal at Richmond and would like to thank him for his contribution to our football club.
“Having additional picks in this year’s draft will give us greater flexibility to add further talent to our club or manoeuvre positions should an opportunity present itself.”
