Hawthorn has farewelled Sarah Perkins and Janet Baird after the club informed the pair they will not be offered contracts for the 2024 season.
Perkins made her Hawthorn debut in the club’s inaugural game in Round 1 last year, going on to play five games across two seasons in the brown and gold.
The 30-year-old departs the club having clocked up 40 games over her career with Adelaide, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Hawthorn.
She also made a significant contribution to the Hawks’ VFLW program over a number of years, including winning a premiership in 2018.
Baird suited up for the Hawks on one occasion across her two seasons.
The 23-year-old also played three games for Gold Coast in her two years with the Suns.
Hawthorn AFLW List Manager Mitchell Cashion acknowledged both players for their service to the club.
“We thank Sarah and Janet for their contribution to our football club across the past two seasons,” Cashion said.
“They will always be inaugural Hawks and we wish them all the best for what comes next.”
