2023 was another year of development for Hawthorn's first-ever player Bridget Deed.
The 20-year-old suited up for one game in the midfield and was an emergency for multiple games, highlighting how tight selection was in an engine room bolstered by the likes of Emily Bates.
It was Round 4 against Melbourne when Deed would play her sixth career game, building on the five she played in the Hawks' inaugural season.
In her team's 59-point loss to the Demons, she registered nine disposals and laid seven tackles in what was a promising contribution on an otherwise disappointing day.
Despite only suiting up for one game, the midfielder importantly trained well and kept pushing for selection throughout the season.
Unfortunately by the end of the year, she sustained a minor ankle injury which also limited her chances of another game or two before the end of 2023.
Deed will be looking to continue her improvement in 2024.
