Hawthorn defender James Blanck will miss the 2024 AFL season after scans confirmed he has ruptured his ACL.
Blanck was forced from the field after suffering the injury during this morning's intra-club match at Bunjil Bagora, Waverley Park.
Executive General Manager of Football Rob McCartney said the club would work to support Blanck during his recovery.
“Following today’s intra-club match James was scanned and this revealed a season-ending knee injury,” McCartney said.
“We all feel for James at this point in time following a strong pre-season and what looked to be a promising year ahead.
“In saying this, James’ character will see him quickly turn his attention to being diligent throughout his rehab so he can return to the field in 2025 ready to build on the development we have seen during his first two season in the brown and gold.
“As a club, we will now support James as best we can during his recovery phase, we are all feeling for him.”
