Hawthorn has appointed Keegan Brooksby as its AFLW List Manager & Midfield Coach ahead of the 2024 season.
Brooksby previously served as the club’s AFLW Strategy and Opposition Coach in 2022 before taking on the role as AFLW Head of Development in 2023.
The former Gold Coast, West Coast and Hawthorn big man has been an important member of the Hawks AFLW program since its inaugural season, while also playing an integral part in Box Hill’s VFL and VFLW recruiting teams, alongside running the Hawks Academy program.
His new position comes as former AFLW midfield coach David Mackay moves into a development role in the AFL program, while former AFLW list manager Mitch Cashion takes on a new opportunity within the Hawks Academy.
Hawthorn General Manager of Football Operations Max Bailey said Brooksby steps into his new positions with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
“Keegan has played a vital role in the development of our AFLW program since our inaugural season in 2022,” Bailey said.
“Having served multiple roles over his two years at the club so far, he is well equipped to take on this exciting new challenge as our AFLW List Manager / Midfield Coach.
“He is not only a valued staff member but also a valued person who is highly deserving of this opportunity.”
Hawthorn is set to finalise the rest of its AFLW coaching panel closer to the start of the 2024 season.
The Hawks commence their pre-season on Monday 3 June before taking the field for Round 1 in the last week of August.
