Young gun Connor Macdonald has extended with Hawthorn until 2026 as he looks to celebrate his 50th career game this weekend.
Following three consistent seasons in the brown and gold, Macdonald’s initial contract had him locked in to the brown and gold until 2025, but he has now committed to the club for a further year.
The 21-year-old first arrived at the Hawks in 2022 with Pick 26 following the national draft and is now set to celebrate his first major milestone game against St Kilda at UTAS Stadium on Saturday.
After making his debut in the first round of the 2022 season, Macdonald has since become a key member of a young and developing Hawthorn side, playing an impressive 49 out of a possible 53 games.
The talented forward/midfielder has provided plenty of excitement in his short career to date, praised for his footy smarts and creativity around goals.
The youngster continues to show great progression again in 2024, averaging 15.9 disposals and 5.9 marks per game alongside seven goals.
In his side’s impressive victory against the Western Bulldogs last Sunday, Macdonald kicked a career-high three goals, giving Hawks fans plenty to look forward to in the years to come.
