Hawthorn recorded its first win of the 2024 Victorian Blind Football League (VBFL) season on Saturday against St Kilda, while Port Melbourne proved too strong in the second game of the day at Action Indoor Sports Tullamarine.
It was a tight start against the Saints with the Hawks holding a narrow one-point lead at quarter-time.
From there, the game burst open for the brown and gold, resulting in a 46-point win.
In the second game of the day, Hawthorn found it difficult against the VBFL's newest team, Port Melbourne.
It was the Borough's 50-10 first quarter which saw them power through to the win but it wasn't without a Hawks fightback, outscoring their opposition by 14 points in the fourth term.
However, it wasn't enough as the Hawks succumbed to a 21-point loss.
Round 2 action is back at Action Sports Tullamarine on Saturday where Hawthorn will again do battle with St Kilda and Port Melbourne.
