New AFLW Backline Coach Steph Binder is full of energy and enthusiasm following her appointment as part of Hawthorn's AFLW coaching group.
Binder has experience across national, state and Under-19 levels of football and is now ready to lead Hawthorn's backline in a new era for the team.
"I'm absolutely so excited," she said.
"I can't wait to get stuck into it."
Hawks fans will also be thrilled, with Binder aiming to develop an exciting style of play in 2024.
"I love fast, attacking footy," she said.
"I'm very proactive and aggressive.
"I like to get up the ground and get things moving.
"Exciting footy is what I like to coach."
Binder most recently came from Collingwood where she served as its VFLW midfield assistant coach as well as one of its AFLW development coaches.
She has also led North Melbourne as its VFLW Senior Coach while also being involved in their AFLW program.
At Under-19 level, she helped to shape Dandenong Stingrays and now Hawks trio Mackenzie Eardley, Mikayla Williamson and Sophie Butterworth into the players they are today, as she served as an assistant coach with both the Stingrays and Vic Country.
Binder and the team now look forward to the beginning of Hawthorn's AFLW pre-season on Monday 3 June, with the season set to begin in the final week of August.
