Hawthorn midfield star Jai Newcombe has been voted as the side’s Round 21 MVP for his solid performance against GWS on Sunday.
The Hawks were on top for the majority of the game, with the 23-year-old in control of the stoppages and dominant through the midfield in the two-point loss in Canberra.
Newcombe demonstrated his elite work ethic by finishing with a team-high 30 disposals and a game-high 11 clearances, with seven of those coming out of the centre.
He also managed a game-high 19 contested possessions as well as a team-high six tackles and six inside 50s.
This marks Newcombe’s second MVP nomination of the season, following his first in Round 16 against the West Coast Eagles.
Hawthorn will regroup to take on Carlton this Sunday in Round 22 at the MCG.
