Midfielder Harry Morrison has highlighted the Hawks' running endurance as a major factor behind their strong run of form, which they'll look to continue this Sunday against Richmond, in what's set to be an extra special game for the 25-year-old.

Morrison was a late inclusion for last weekend's Round 22 clash, coming into the side and playing his role well and finish with one goal and 20 disposals.

This Sunday he'll suit up for his 100th game, in what will be a significant milestone for the Benalla product.

Morrison, who was taken at pick #74 in the 2016 national draft, made his debut for the brown and gold in the final round of the 2017 season against the Western Bulldogs.

The following season, Morrison featured in 19 of a possible 23 regular season games, as well as playing in Hawthorn's two finals against Richmond and Melbourne.

He's since been a versatile asset for the Hawks through his eight seasons at the club, playing predominantly through the midfield and on the wing.

Speaking with Talking Hawks post-game, Morrison said the Hawks approach to the game last Sunday against Carlton was to utilise their running power and aerobic ability.

“We just had to play our way,” Morrison said.

“We play an exciting brand of footy, and we knew we weren’t going to break them early but eventually, we’re a fit side and we were able to play our way which is a running game, and it showed in the end.”

Morrison said he was eager to build upon his performance at AFL level, having enjoyed a strong run of form for Box Hill to earn his re-call back into the senior side.

“I was feeling it at half time, I was pretty cooked having not played an AFL game in a while,” Morrison said.

“But you set yourself for those moments and hopefully I stood up today, but I just couldn’t be more happy.”
