Hawthorn will appear in its first final since 2018 on Friday night when they face the Western Bulldogs in an Elimination Final at the MCG.
It’s do or die for the Hawks as they take on the in-form Dogs in front of a sold-out crowd.

Last time we met
Hawthorn (98) defeated Western Bulldogs (92) in Round 8, 2024.
In a see-sawing tussle at Marvel Stadium, it was the Hawks who walked away with an upset win over the Western Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs kicked the first three goals of the game in the opening five minutes, but the Hawks steadied with debutant Calsher Dear kicking his first goal and only trailed by five points at the first change.
The Hawks hit the front early in the second term and stayed there until midway through the fourth, when three Bulldogs goals put them back in front.
Hawks captain James Sicily led superbly after suffering a dislocated shoulder early in the game and kicked what turned out to be the winning goal.
Jarman Impey, Lloyd Meek, Conor Nash, Dylan Moore and Jai Newcombe were the others named in the Hawks best players.
Our last game
Hawthorn (170) defeated North Melbourne (46) in Round 24, 2024.
Hawthorn secured its place in the 2024 Toyota AFL Finals series after a 124-point smashing of North Melbourne in the last round of the home and away season.
The Hawks sewed up their spot in the top eight in style, with Dylan Moore kicking four goals and Nick Watson, Connor Macdonald and Mabior Chol kicking three each.
The opening quarter was scrappy before Hawthorn started to pull away for a 28-7 lead at the first break and they kicked eight goals to three in the second.
Hawthorn piled on 10 goals in the final term for its biggest-ever win over North.
Massimo D’Ambrosio, Jai Newcombe, James Sicily, Moore and Macdonald, were the Hawks best players on the day.

Tickets for the 2024 Toyota AFL Finals Series match, Elimination Final 2 – Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn on Friday, September 6 at the MCG are now exhausted.
