Hawthorn has officially launched its 2025 centenary guernsey, featuring the names of every VFL/AFL player to have donned the brown and gold in the past 100 years.

The commemorative guernsey will be worn by the AFL side during its Round 8 clash against Richmond at the MCG, where the club will host a special centenary match, with the entire Hawthorn family invited to attend.

A total of 1005 names have been weaved into the famous brown and gold fabric, which includes all 973 past VFL/AFL players, as well as the club's 32 appointed senior coaches.

Hawthorn CEO Ash Klein said the commemorative guernsey paid homage to all VFL/AFL players to have walked in the brown and gold.

“We are incredibly excited to unveil our centenary guernsey, with the amazing design acknowledging every player of our football club over the past 100 years in the VFL/AFL,” Klein said.

“While our current playing group is determined to create their own history, it will be a special moment when they run onto the MCG in this guernsey against Richmond in Round 8 for our centenary match, proudly wearing names of those who have come before them."
