Hawthorn has made one change to its line-up to take on the Adelaide this Sunday afternoon at Thomas Farms Oval.

The change sees Captain Emily Bates return after being a late withdrawal against Collingwood last weekend.

Coming out of the side is Casey Sherriff who suffered a fracture of her fibular and a high-grade ankle injury with some syndesmosis involvement in the last quarter of Hawthorn's Week 2 win.

Hawthorn General Manager of Football Operations Max Bailey said Bates will be a handy inclusion as the Hawks take on Adelaide.

“It’s great to have Emily back in the side this week, she’s a powerful presence and a fantastic leader,” Bailey said.

“She provides great experience against a strong Crows midfield group, which will be an exciting challenge for us this weekend.

“We’re looking forward to seeing Emily leading the team out at Unley Oval on Sunday.”
