Our last game

Hawthorn (61) defeated GWS Giants (24) in Week 8.

Hawthorn overcame a slow start to notch its sixth win in a row with a 37-point win over the Giants.

Aileen Gilroy starred with three stunning goals and 17 disposals, adapting to the windy conditions with ease.

Hawthorn captain Emily Bates (34 disposals, one goal) was the one to turn the tide in the face of the fast-starting Giants, as she worked exceptionally hard to impact in tight, then spread hard.

She was aided by the clean run of Jasmine Fleming (20 disposals, one goal) whose class left her a cut above.

Gilroy, Bates, Fleming, Mattea Breed and Tilly Lucas-Rodd rounded out the Hawks best.

Last time we met

Hawthorn (11) defeated by Narrm (70) in Round 4, 2023.

Hawthorn suffered a 59-point defeat at the hands of Narrm in Round 4 last year.

The Hawks' work rate couldn’t be questions, winning the tackle count 79 to 53 and worked to pressure every possession the Demons found.

For the Hawks, star recruit Emily Bates was tireless around the contest, winning 21 disposals and seven clearances, and while the likes of Jasmine Fleming (21 disposals, 309m gained) and Tilly Lucas-Rodd (28 disposals, four tackles) worked hard, it simply wasn't enough to match that of Melbourne's midfield.

Bates, Emily Everist, Fleming, Laura Elliott and Lucas-Rodd were named in the Hawks best players.
