Hawthorn's Casey Sherriff and Mackenzie Eardley have been named as available for the Hawks Week 9 clash, having recovered from their respective injuries.

Sherriff a sustained a fracture of her fibula and some high grade ankle with some syndesmosis involvement in Week 2 against Collingwood, while Eardley suffered a concussion in Week 6 game two against Fremantle.

High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett provided an update on the duo, as well as the other injured Hawks and how they’re progressing.

Casey Sherriff (Lower leg) – Available

“We’ve just finished our last main training session for the week, Casey had the last phase of her return to play processes to square away. She stepped through that really positively, trained well today and at this stage is going to be available for selection this week.”

Mackenzie Eardley (Concussion) – Available

“Slightly extended protocols but same deal, full main training session today for Mack had to square away the last little bits of that return to play protocols, successfully done today. Same deal, pending her pulling up well, she’ll be available for selection.”

Greta Bodey (Toe) – 1 week

“We’re just managing that toe at the moment, so at this stage we’re going to hold off with such a short turn around again and use a slightly longer break between this next fixture and the game against Richmond, which we anticipate she’ll be available for at this stage.”

Kristy Stratton (Ankle) – 1-2 weeks

“Progressing pretty well, she had some on field stuff on Saturday, we’re just managing some of those clinical signs at this stage she’s on track for one to two weeks for her return to availability.”

Laura Stone (Ankle) – TBC

“Progressing really positively, albeit slowly given the nature of the injury. She’s finally out of the moon boot today so she’s walking around pain free and normal today, we’re going to see how that responds now that she’s full weight bearing. We don’t have a timeline on return for Laura at this stage but we’re taking our time with such a significant injury with a player of that age and the stage of her career.”

Emily Everist (Illness) – TBC

“Sherpa, she woke up unwell on Saturday morning prior to the game, she came to the ground and our medical staff were able to assess her and we made what I thought was a pragmatic decision to not play her given how she was feeling. She’s still symptomatic, she’s still dealing with that medical condition so at this stage given again the short turn around to Thursday’s match we’re going to make her unavailable for this week, with a view to hopefully having her back against Richmond.”
