Hawthorn is proud to unveil its 100-year commemorative logo as the club prepares to launch its centenary celebrations of competition in the VFL/AFL.
Encapsulating elements of Hawthorn’s rich and storied history, the 100-year commemorative logo is inspired by the 1925 iteration, with the iconic HFC monogram in the middle replicated for the 2025 version.
The commemorative logo will proudly feature on the front of the famous brown and gold guernsey for the 2025 season, as well as off-field apparel, as the Hawks mark 100 years of existence in the VFL/AFL competition.
Having competed in the Metropolitan Junior Football Association (MJFA) since the club’s inception in 1902, before graduating to the Victorian Football Association (VFA) in 1914, it was in January 1925 when Hawthorn received official entry into the Victorian Football League.
Four months later, on Saturday 2nd of May 1925 the Hawks took to the field for their first VFL match at Glenferrie Oval as the brown and gold hosted Richmond in front of almost 20,000 fans.
Following 100 years of highs and lows, in 2025 the club will be celebrating the anniversary through a number of special initiatives and occasions with its members and fans.
Hawthorn Chief Executive Officer Ash Klein said the unveiling of the 100-year commemorative logo was just the beginning of an exciting season ahead in 2025.
“We are incredibly proud to be part of a football club that has such a rich and storied history, and we cannot wait to share our 100-year celebrations with our members and fans next year,” Klein said.
“This commemorative logo encompasses some notable and iconic traits from our 1925 iteration and will fittingly form part of the brown and gold fabric in 2025, observing our centenary of existence in the VFL/AFL.
“We hope the Hawks faithful are as excited as we are for what’s in store next season. This will be a historic and momentous occasion as we wind back the clock and pay homage to the many people who have made Hawthorn the family club it is today.”
