Hawthorn held off the Demons to secure a six-point win at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns.
The Hawks victory broke Narrm’s four-game win streak and saw the Hawks rise to the top of the AFLW ladder in the opening game of Indigenous Round.
Hawthorn skipper Emily Bates (20 disposals) starred, along with young gun Jasmine Fleming (22 touches), Eliza West (25 disposals) and Tilly Lucas-Rodd (23 disposals).
While midfielder Mattea Breed took a genuine mark-of-the-year contender in the third quarter.
Bridie Hipwell, Aine McDonagh and Fleming were the Hawks goal scorers with one apiece.

Hawthorn (30) defeated by Richmond (41) in Round 8, 2023.
Hawthorn suffered an 11-point loss to the Tigers in Cairns, after the Tigers pulled off a last-quarter comeback.
It was one point the difference at half-time and the Hawks led by nine at the final break.
Hawthorn’s Emily Bates was a standout with 18 disposals, 11 tackles and four clearances. Jasmine Fleming also finished with 18 disposals, as well as six inside 50s and five tackles.
The Hawks had four goal scorers who each managed a major each, Aine McDonagh, Bridie Hipwell, Tahlia Fellows and Greta Bodey.
