Our last game
Hawthorn (46) defeated Richmond (23) in Week 10.
Hawthorn kicked clear late to take a 23-point win over the Tigers after a tussle throughout the first three terms.
The Tigers had no answer for Greta Bodey, who ran hard on the wing throughout and took a brave intercept mark in the first term, running back with the flight of the ball.
The win was capped off with a stunning intercept-turned-goal from Kaitlyn Ashmore to lock the Hawks into a top two spot and to secure the McClelland Trophy.
Aine McDonagh finished with two majors, with Mikayla Williamson, Aileen Gilroy, Mackenzie Eardley and Ashmore slotting one apiece.
Eliza West, Bodey, McDonagh, Tamara Smith. Jess Vukic and Jasmine Fleming were among the Hawks best players.
Last time we met
Hawthorn (32) defeated by Brisbane (59) in Round 5, 2023.
Hawthorn suffered a 27-point loss to the Lions in the swirling wind of Kinetic Stadium in Frankston.
Hawthorn's defend first mentality was immediately on show as it won the tackle count 75 to 71. The Hawks laid some big opening-quarter tackles and made the game highly physical, preventing the Lions from finding space.
Jasmine Fleming's class shone through with 15 disposals and three clearances, while Emily Bates' efforts against her old side were impressive as the star midfielder had 17 disposals, 14 tackles and five clearances for the day.
Bridie Hipwell slotted two majors, while Greta Bodey, Kaitlyn Ashmore and Aine McDonagh had one each to their name.
