Hawthorn has welcomed Noah Mraz and Cody Anderson to the brown and gold following the conclusion of the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.
Mraz was selected with Pick 35 while Anderson's name was called out at Pick 64.
Hailing from the Dandenong Stingrays, Mraz is a mobile defender with a strong aerial presence, specialising in intercept marking.
The 18-year-old averaged 19.5 disposals and four marks in his first two Coates Talent League matches for the year before an ankle injury in an under-18 match against Coburg sidelined him for the rest of the year.
Despite this injury setback, Mraz has shown promise both as a top and bottom-ager, making his Stingrays debut at 16 years old before playing a further 12 games as a 17-year-old.
The mobile tall has also represented Vic Country at under-16, under-17 and under-18 age groups.
Meanwhile, Eastern Ranges product Anderson has seen his draft stocks rise following his solid form in the Coates Talent League this year.
Dubbed the ‘Beast from the East’, the 18-year-old is one to watch in the 2025 AFL season, due to his competitiveness, strength around the contest and high defensive work rate.
In 2024, the Healesville product racked up averages of 22.5 disposals, 5.7 tackles, 5.5 inside 50s and 2.6 marks across his 11 games for the Ranges, earning him a Vic Metro call-up.
As a member of the Hawks’ Next Generation Academy, Anderson is already a familiar face among the brown and gold, having trained with Hawthorn’s senior side and featuring in one game for Box Hill in 2024.
