Hawthorn has locked away a valuable part of its future, with Finn Maginness extending his contract for a further two years.
Having already been contracted until the end of 2025, the new deal will see the 23-year-old remain in brown and gold until at least the end of 2027.
Since being drafted to the club in 2019 as a father-son selection, Maginness has suited up for 45 games in the brown and gold, including 13 in 2024.
Across those 13 matches, Maginness averaged 14 disposals, three score involvements and 2.8 marks per game.
He was also among the many young Hawks to taste finals footy for the first time in 2024, with Maginness hitting the scoreboard in both games.
Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie said the extension signalled an exciting few years ahead for Maginness in the brown and gold.
“This new contract is great reward for Finn, he’s the sort of player who has great work ethic and is willing to play any role for the betterment of the team,” McKenzie said.
“Finn has obviously demonstrated his elite endurance and discipline as a run-with player, and we’re confident he can continue to evolve his game in coming years to play an important role in our senior side.
“We know Finn is excited about the direction we’re heading in as a club and we see him forming a valuable piece of our future.”
