Hawthorn has welcomed versatile youngster Keely Coyne to the club as a delisted free agent.
It comes after the first AFLW Delisted Free Agency Period opened on Wednesday.
Coyne was initially drafted by the Western Bulldogs with Pick 29 in 2022, following a promising junior career with East Sandringham and the Sandringham Dragons.
The 20-year-old then made her AFLW debut against the Hawks in Round 4 later that year before going on to play 12 games over three seasons.
Despite being hampered by an ACL injury in 2023, Coyne has shown promising signs in her AFLW career so far, impressing with her versatility, composure and decision-making.
Capable of playing anywhere on the field, the new Hawk is expected to ply her trade in defence in the brown and gold.
Hawthorn AFLW List Manager Keegan Brooksby was excited to welcome Coyne to the club.
“Keely is a talented and skilful young player who we think will complement our exciting brand of football,” Brooksby said.
“Having already experienced three seasons of AFLW, we think she will be a great fit in our backline and our club overall.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what Keely can produce in the brown and gold.”
