Hawthorn midfielder Conor Nash has praised his teammates for their fitness and motivation levels so far in pre-season training.
Speaking to RSN Breakfast, the 26-year-old complimented the shape of the group as well as their hunger to work hard and improve on their 2024 campaign.
The big-bodied Hawk also spoke about how he spent his off-season break and shared his own excitement around moving into the club’s future home, the Kennedy Community Centre, next year.
We summarised some of the key points from Nash’s interview below.
On being back at the club and training
“It's been great. We’ve gotten straight into it. Last week was mainly the first to four-year players but to be honest, I think there was nearly everyone there, so well over 40 on the Monday. It's great to get back into it… everyone's fit and raring to go.”
On how he spent his off-season break
“I spent two weeks in Italy with my partner, Grace. We went to Florence and Rome and went through Tuscany. Then I headed back to Ireland for another three weeks, which was pretty crazy, just getting around, seeing family, seeing friends and keeping some training going, so that was great.”
On the pre-season vibes
“There are big expectations but at this time of year, you ask any team and they think they're flying until they get hit in the face in Round 1 or whatever. We're just going to get our work done this pre-season and see what unfolds. But we're definitely taking confidence from last year, both individually and collectively.”

On the excitement around moving into the Kennedy Community Centre
“I think it's over 60 per cent compete as a full facility. I've been there a few times just after training, just taking a drive by and look, it's phenomenal. Compared to where we are now, it's a big space and it's a 70-acre site we're on. It's going to have all the bells and whistles, so it's going to propel us forward and really push us forward as a footy club in both programs and all the programs that we run. I can't wait to get down there.”
