Three Box Hill Hawks players have been named in the rebel VFLW State Team squad, with new recruits Olivia Fogarty, Stasia Stevenson and Maddison Torpey making the list.

The trio was among the 50-player squad announced by league this morning ahead of its inaugural representative match in April.

The rebel VFLW State Team will represent the ‘Big V’ when they take on the SANFL Women’s State Team at Alberton Oval on Friday, April 11 during the AFL’s Gather Round.

Fogarty joined the Hawks ahead of the 2025 season from the Ainslie Football Club in the AFL Canberra competition. The 26-year-old is agile and has a balance of smarts and speed that enable her to impact the scoreboard.

Stevenson, an 18-year-old out of Eastern Ranges, is another recent addition to the Box Hill Hawks line up. She is an athletic high half-forward who is an exciting and versatile player.

Torpey came to Box Hill from Sandringham Zebras VFLW, having made an immediate impact, she’s part of the Hawks leadership group for 2025. The 20-year-old is an aerial ruck, who is a dynamic and developing player.

With all 12 VFLW clubs represented in the squad, this will be the first time since the league was established in 2017 that a women’s representative team will take the field.

Players who are injured were not selected in the initial squad, however, players can still be added from outside the squad of 50 when the final squad of 21 players to represent the ‘Big V’ is announced.
