Last time we met
Hawthorn (94) defeated West Coast (33) in Round 16, 2024.
Hawthorn continued its charge to finals contention with a fifth straight win and the team’s biggest winning margin of 2024, dismantling West Coast by 61 points at Optus Stadium.
The Hawks were firing from the first bounce, kicking the opening three goals. They took charge of the midfield battle early, dominating clearances 38-19 and hardly giving the Eagles a look out of centre bounce (14-4).
James Worpel (28 disposals and 11 clearances) and Jai Newcombe (33 and eight inside 50s) were outstanding alongside Conor Nash (25 and six clearances) in an even team performance that included 10 separate goalkickers.
Dylan Moore, Mabior Chol, Jack Ginnivan and Connor Macdonald each kicked two goals, while Worpel, Newcome, Will Day, Dylan Moore, Jame Sicily, Nash and Lloyd Meek were among the Hawks best afield.
What's On
In honour of ANZAC Day, ensure you get to your seats early to experience a special on-ground ceremony recognising and commemorating the contribution of all those who have served Australia in times of war.
As part of our Centenary year celebrations, at this match and all Hawthorn home matches this season, a past Hawks star will kick off the match with a ceremonial boot for goal on the ground. The Round 7 goal-kicker will be 203-game Hawthorn forward, Ben Dixon.
At quarter time we will see the Superhero Dash for Cash, a KFC food drop at three-quarter time and post-game head to gate 2/3 for Nature Valley and Moondarra Cheese sampling.
